TRAVELLING EXHIBITION 'ARCHITECTURE OF CONSEQUENCE'

24 architecture designers take the lead including NEXT architects. Assessing what society needs now. Pursuing strategies the market is hesitant to explore. The designs that are presented are the fruits of an ambition to find sustainable designs for the future.

EQUAL = UNEQUAL
To counter the uniformity of an area’s development, NEXT architects deliberately put their stake on inequality in the form of wide diversity and positive discrimination. By magnifying the intrinsic qualities of each location a multi-faceted living environment is created that has something to offer people of all kinds. This principle can be applied at every scale level, from interior to landscape.

Under the name ‘Group portraits’, an overview of four emerging practices was made. NEXT architects was one of them. In two locations, Almere and Nijmegen, work was shown and studies were done into the development of new expansion areas of the two cities. NEXT designed one print of wallpaper that was shown in two places at the same time, in Nijmegen it was put up on the wall, in Almere we used the same amount of wallspace to wrap an object out of it.
