Your role at NEXT

As a technically and strategically experienced architect, you will work on a diverse range of ambitious projects, including schools, cultural buildings, and residential developments. You will ensure the high technical quality and feasibility of our design ideas. You will contribute to and review the designs, while keeping the aesthetic principles in mind. You have extensive experience collaborating with contractors, structural engineers, and consultants. You are able to communicate ideas convincingly, are well organized, and maintain oversight. You will be responsible for, or bring your expertise to, the technical elaboration and refinement of various projects. Your main involvement will be in the preliminary design, final design, construction documentation, and execution phases.

What do you bring to NEXT

You are fluent in Dutch, with strong architectural insight and a keen eye for aesthetic quality. You approach challenges with an open mindset. You communicate openly, take initiative, and enjoy working collaboratively. You have experience in design supervision and quality assurance of building projects. In addition, you have advanced experience with REVIT software. You care not only about what we do, but also how we do it.

You hold a degree in Architecture from a Technical University, Academy of Architecture, or University of Applied Sciences (HBO Bouwkunde), and you have at least 6 years of relevant professional experience as an architect/architectural consultant.

In projects that address major social issues, we create spaces for encounter. NEXT has built a broad portfolio of leading projects, from cultural buildings to housing and infrastructure. In addition, NEXT has an extensive network of (inter)national partners. This year we are celebrating an anniversary, completing both a circular pavilion around the corner and a residential project on the Portuguese coast, designing distinctive school and cultural buildings as well as large infrastructure projects, while fully engaging in sustainable design.

Your role at NEXT
As a PR and Acquisition Officer, you will help us grow further and increase visibility within a broad network. You know how to create urgency and identify opportunities within our projects. You will be responsible for the firm’s communication and ensure that NEXT’s diverse portfolio reaches the right audiences. On the one hand, you will work editorially on press releases, the website, social media, and submissions for awards and competitions. On the other hand, you will develop long-term strategies for publications and NEXT’s positioning. You will have the freedom to implement your own creative ideas while collaborating on the development of NEXT’s identity. There is also the opportunity to contribute to acquisition processes and to further develop your skills in this area.

What you bring to NEXT
You are skilled at translating ideas into compelling written stories for the right target audience. You are resourceful, proactive, and at ease connecting with people. Entrepreneurial, strong in content, and with a genuine affinity for architecture and infrastructure.

You have a creative mindset, know how to generate opportunities for our projects, and can set clear priorities. Design is one of your passions, and you are graphically strong. You are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), enjoy making gifs and videos, and are confident using social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Mailchimp). You can empathize with different typologies and translate stories into text and visuals tailored to audiences in architecture. You are skilled at drafting PR plans. You speak and write fluent Dutch and English. Experience in acquisition work is a plus.

You have at least 3 years of relevant work experience and preferably a completed higher education (HBO or university) degree related to architecture.
